An industry partner is interested in working with you and your students! You'll see all pending requests under the "Requests" tab on your course page. Here you can follow the link to the project page, and open up the chat discussion with the employer.

First, read the Project

While reviewing, try to answer the following questions:

  1. Does the project scope align with my course outcomes for student learning?*
  2. Is the project scope well defined in terms of deliverables and expectations of the students?
  3. Are the project deliverables achievable for the skill level of the students in my course?

If you've answered 'no' to any of the above, but you see potential, send the company a messaging asking them if they'd be open to changing any aspect of the project. Most will say yes.

Discuss with the employer

Before approving or declining, it's always a great idea to have a conversation with the employer. This can be continued on Riipen messages; when the employer sends a request, a new message thread is automatically created. Or, you can call or email the employer if you prefer - you'll find their contact info on the Project page if you expand the header section. Tips for what to cover in your discussion.

Approve or decline with 14 days

The request will expire within 14 days; try to make a decision before then. If you're still in discussion you can either a) approve the project, and "undo" later; b) contact Riipen for an extension. When you approve their request, the project will be visible to any students who have access to your course page.
