Option 1: Students Signing Up Directly

Here are instructions you can provide to the students:

  1. Sign Up: Go to your course page and click "Join as Student." If you haven't created an account yet, click "Sign up to Join" and create a student account.

  2. When prompted, enter the access code provided to you by your instructor.

  3. After joining your course, you will need to pay to access your assigned project. There is a button that says “unlock access” on the Course page. Clicking this will take you into the payment wizard.

  4. You can pay with most major credit cards, Google/Apple Pay, and with a debit card if that debit card has a CVC value and expiry date.

  5. Go to the Projects tab, and click on your assigned project. Click "Start This Project" when it’s time to sign up for the project and set up your team.

Note: The access code can be found on the “Students” tab of your course/internship page under “Invite Students”.

Option 2: Inviting Students to Teams

As an educator, you can invite students to projects and form their teams, if you prefer to have a higher degree of control on team formation. Click “Create Team” from the Projects tab of your course page to invite students into teams by email addresses. Students can then be provided the instructions below.

  1. Look for an email from noreply@riipen.com inviting you to join a team on Riipen. Click the sign up link in that email to create a student account. You’ve now been added to the team.

  2. Go to your course link and click “unlock access.” Clicking this will take you into the payment wizard.

  3. You can pay with most major credit cards, Google/Apple Pay, and with a debit card if that debit card has a CVC value and expiry date.

  4. You can now access the Projects tab of the course. You’ll see a green checkmark indicating the project you’ve been assigned to. Click on the project to view its details, and select “Start this project” when it’s time to introduce your team to the employer.

Option 3: LMS Integration

Riipen integrates with Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle and D2L. Connect your LMS to Riipen to allow students to access their projects without creating new accounts. Our help center provides step by step instructions for each LMS mentioned here. When the integration is enabled, students can be provided the instructions below.

  1. Click on the link to Riipen in your LMS

  2. Review and accept the Terms of Service to continue.

  3. You’ll now be on your Riipen course page; click “unlock access” to continue. Clicking this will take you into the payment wizard.

  4. You can pay with most major credit cards, Google/Apple Pay, and with a debit card if that debit card has a CVC value and expiry date.

  5. Go to the Projects tab, and click on your assigned project. Click "Start This Project" to sign up for the project and set up your team.
