Using milestones
Using milestone as part of a team.

As a member of a team, you'll see on your team page all the main events for the project: its start date, any pre-defined milestones, and its end date. Milestones are mid-project dates which are defined by the educator, employer or your team to make sure that the project stays on track and that progress is visible to all stakeholders.

Overview

All milestones for a team will appear on their team page.

Key things to know:

  • All milestones are visible to team members, project employers, and experience educators.

  • All team members will be notified to submit a milestone when the due date is near.

  • Employers will be notified when you submit the milestone.

  • Due dates are non-binding; you may submit late but your submission date is recorded.

Creating milestones

Aside from any educator or employer created milestones, a team may wish to add new milestones to the project timeline to help keep on track or showcase progress.

To create a milestone:

  1. Navigate to the team page.

  2. Under the existing milestones, click the "+ Add milestone" button.

  3. Fill in the milestone fields and click "Submit" to save it.

Submitting a milestone

To submit a milestone:

  1. Navigate to the team page

  2. Click the "Submit" button next to the corresponding milestone

  3. Fill in the submission details and click "Submit" to complete the submission.

If you do not see the Submit button, it may be because your project is not started. You must start the project to access milestones.

A milestone submission includes a mandatory description and optional file upload. The description should encompass all work done in order to complete the objective of the milestone while the file should be used to provide the employer with any actual objectives as needed.

View a milestone submission

Once the milestone is submitted, its status changes to green and the "Submit" button is replaced by one which reads "View."

To view a submitted milestone:

  1. Navigate to the team page

  2. Click "View" on the associated milestone

Update a milestone submission

To update an existing submitted milestone:

  1. Navigate to the team page

  2. Click "View" on the associated milestone

  3. Click "Update submission"

  4. Fill in the submission form and click "Submit" to save your updated submission.

Delete a milestone submission

To Delete a submitted milestone:

  1. Navigate to the team page

  2. Click "View" on the associated milestone

  3. Click "Delete"
