Calbright Career Bridge - Terms and Conditions

What you need to know about the program Terms and Conditions

Updated this week

All participants of the Calbright Career Bridge micro-internship must read and abide by the Riipen terms and conditions listed below. Both participants and employers must agree to these conditions in order to join the Calbright Career Bridge micro-internship on the Riipen platform.

Employer/Company Requirements

Eligibility

  • I attest that I am either a not-for-profit employer, public sector employer (post-secondary institution), or private sector employer.

  • I attest that I am located in the United States.

  • I attest that I am a registered business in the United States with a valid Employer Identification Number (EIN).

  • I acknowledge that as a condition of this partnership, I must provide documented proof of being a registered business entity in the United States. This may include, but is not limited to, a valid Employer Identification Number (EIN), articles of incorporation, business license, or any other relevant documentation issued by the appropriate authorities.

  • I understand and attest that neither the company nor I can charge participants any form of payment to participate in the project and shall not directly profit from their participation.

  • I understand that as an employer, neither the company nor I am entitled to claim any payment from participants or to receive any monies paid to the participants in the form of a stipend.

Project Requirements

  • I understand that I must define the project scope up-front to the best of my ability, limiting changes once participants are approved for the project.

  • I understand that I must be available for a discussion with the Calbright Career Bridge micro-internship team to initiate the relationship and confirm that the project scope is an appropriate fit for the micro-internship.

  • I understand that the project timelines must align with the Calbright Career Bridge micro-internship schedule. If the project end date must change, the participants must notify the Calbright Career Bridge team a minimum of five business days prior to the end date currently recorded in the platform.

  • Employer projects must be completed within two to six weeks of project start and by the listed end date for each cohort. Participant and employer exit surveys and employer feedback must also be submitted within two weeks of project completion.

  • I understand I will be matched with a team of three to five Calbright College participants to work on my project. The stipends can be granted to eligible participants selected to participate by Calbright Career Bridge, and all participants must come through the Riipen platform under the micro-internship. Participants cannot be invited directly by the employer.

  • I understand that I must provide a project that requires no more than 40 hours of work per participant. If more than 40 hours of work is required, the participants will not be able to complete the project under this micro-internship.

  • I understand that as the employer, I must make a good faith effort to ensure that the project allows each of the three to five participants 40 hours of experience.

  • I understand that I must provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to the participants who are working on my project(s). I must be responsive to any questions, and check in on progress to help ensure a good result.

  • I understand that this micro-internship requires that participants receive at least five hours of mentorship throughout the project with suggested weekly 30-to-60-minute meetings.

  • Upon completion of the project, I will confirm with the Calbright Career Bridge micro-internship team that each participant has completed 40 hours of work within two to six weeks by providing comprehensive feedback on the platform.

  • I understand that I must complete the Calbright Career Bridge micro-internship exit survey, and approve project deliverables submitted by the participants at the conclusion of the project. If I hire a participant at the completion of the project, I will inform Calbright via email, and I may be invited to complete a follow-up survey about my experiences with the Calbright Career Bridge micro-internship.

  • I acknowledge that participation in this micro-internship requires a commitment to completing these surveys, and failure to do so may result in my inability to post new projects.

  • I understand that participants of the Calbright Career Bridge micro-internship are engaged via Riipen Networks Inc., and as such, Riipen meets all Occupational and Health Standard (OSHA) requirements legislated by federal and state governments.

  • I acknowledge I must provide participants with all relevant information concerning health and safety standards and regulations with regard to their work environment to include any and all required safety equipment to complete their work. This must be completed within the first week of the project.

  • The Calbright Career Bridge micro-internship is offered by Riipen in partnership with Calbright College. I understand that as part of the initiative, Calbright College would like to have the opportunity to check in with me periodically to ask some follow-up questions and to provide information about future opportunities. To that end, I agree to engage in follow-up sessions.

  • Violation of the above conduct may result in immediate removal, suspension, or termination of my service without prior notice.

  • The micro-internship team reserves the right to determine, at their discretion, what constitutes a violation of respectful behavior in line with Riipen’s Acceptable Use Policy.

  • Any decision made by Riipen regarding the termination of my participation due to a violation of this agreement is final and binding.

  • I am solely responsible for my actions and behaviors while using this service, and I understand that I must adhere to this agreement to continue using the service.

  • I understand to qualify for the stipend, that I must complete 40 hours of work within two to six weeks on a schedule that is agreed by my participant team and the employer. • A final submission as outlined in the project description and required by the employer.

    • Hours tracked in Riipen’s work log feature totaling 40 hours.

    • Brief reflection of my experience on the project.

  • I understand that my team must provide our final submission on the Riipen platform prior to the project end date. If the employer and my team collectively agree to change the end date, I will notify the Calbright Career Bridge team a minimum of five business days prior to the end date currently recorded on the platform.

  • I understand that payment will be made only after I have completed the exit survey and the Calbright Career Bridge team has evaluated the project submission with input from the employer. A project that is not completed will not be eligible for the stipend. Payment processing is not immediate. Note: A stipend will begin to be processed when the employer provides feedback on a project submission and the participant exit survey has been received. Details of the stipend payment process and timelines can be accessed here.

  • I understand that during and after the completion of the employer project, I will be invited to complete follow-up surveys about my experiences with the Calbright Career Bridge micro-internship and my employment journey. I acknowledge that participation in Calbright Career Bridge requires a commitment to completing these surveys.

  • I understand that I will work only on one employer project as part of the 2025-2026 Calbright Career Bridge cohort and will be paid only for that one project once completed and in accordance with the statements above.

  • I acknowledge that if I receive a stipend payment that I was not entitled to, I may need to return such funds. This includes, but is not limited to, situations such as:
