What is the CODCA Future Ready program?
The CODCA Future Ready Program, in partnership with Riipen, is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experience for upper-year high school students. Through this partnership, students gain access to employer-led projects aligned with their career pathways, giving them hands-on opportunities to build essential technical and soft skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. These projects not only boost employability and industry exposure but also help students graduate with tangible accomplishments to showcase in their portfolios.
Who is eligible to participate?
Grade 11 or 12 students who are enrolled in or have completed CODCA courses such as:
Networking Systems A/B
Fundamentals of Computer Science
Principles of Information Technology
IT Capstone
What are the program dates?
Projects will begin on September 29, 2025 and must be completed by November 21, 2025
How long are the projects?
Each project is 50 hours, with expected completion in 8 weeks.
How are student teams formed?
Teams of 3-5 students will be assigned to projects by the CODCA Future Ready team, based on their subject area courses.
Can students choose their projects?
No, the CODCA Future Ready team assigns students to projects based on their completed program pathways in Information Technology, Engineering, or Media Studies. This ensures strong alignment between student expertise and project needs, leading to meaningful outcomes for both students and employers.
What kind of support is available to students?
Riipen provides additional support through onboarding sessions before starting projects. Throughout the program, employers will provide 5 hours of mentorship, and students can reach out for assistance via the platform

Who can participate as an employer?
Employers based in the US who are looking to access student support in fields like Information Technology, Engineering, and Media Arts.
What is the process for signing up as an employer?
If you are new to Riipen, create an account.
Complete the eligibility form
Apply for a portal pass.
Request an in-platform match with the program.
Kick-off with the participant team assigned for your project!
What kind of projects can be posted?
Employers can post projects where students can demonstrate their emerging skills and knowledge while learning from real world experience. Projects should meet entry level skill requirements across Information Technology, Engineering, and Media Arts. Check out our website for more information.
What is the duration of the projects?
Each project must offer 50 hours of work over an 8 week period.
How many projects can I submit and how many students can I take on?
There’s no limit to how many projects an employer can submit to the CODCA Future Ready program. The students will be assigned in teams of 3-5, directly to the project through the program. That being said, we ask that you be mindful of the amount of projects you submit to the program, to ensure you can dedicate appropriate time to each student.
What if my project requires more than 50 hours of work?
Projects are assigned teams of 3-5 students, which means your project should be able to be completed in up to 250 hours in total. If you think you will need more than this we recommend splitting the work and posting multiple projects to work with more than one CODCA Future Ready team.
Can I bring my own students?
No, employers cannot bring their own students to the program, as all students need to come from CODCA before entering the Riipen platform.
How many students will I be matched with?
You will be matched with 3-5 students per matched project.
What support is available for employers?
Riipen provides onboarding support for employers, and you will receive help throughout the project duration to ensure a smooth process.
Am I required to pay students?
No, there is no cost for employers. Participation is free. Students get experience while you benefit from their skills!
