By managing learner visibility, you can balance opportunities for employer engagement with learner privacy, ensuring that information is shared only when it makes sense for your experience.
This feature allows you to decide when to show learners who have been added to your experience and when to keep them hidden. It helps prevent unwanted outreach and gives you control over when to open access to potential employers for networking or recruitment.
Main benefits of learner privacy settings:
Protect student information by controlling when and how it’s shared.
Enable visibility only when learners are ready to connect with employers.
Provide employers with a transparent and structured way to view potential participants.
General
Experience talent pool
The Experience Talent Pool allows employers to browse potential participants who are part of your experience through the Learners tab. This tab displays key learner details such as education, skills, location, and the number of Riipen projects completed. Employers can filter by category or keyword to find suitable learners and click on a learner’s card to view their full profile.
As an experience administrator, you control whether employers can see this tab and who can access it through the learner privacy settings.
If you choose to enable this feature, we recommend encouraging your learners to update their Riipen profiles with complete information, such as their resume, education, and work experience, so they can stand out to potential employers.
Learner privacy settings
In Experience settings > Privacy tab, you’ll find a section called Learner privacy settings. This section allows you to choose one of four visibility options:
No visibility
Employers cannot view any learners from your experience. This is the default setting and ensures that learner information is fully private.
Visibility by matched employers
Only employers who are matched to your experience can view learners in the Learners tab. This option provides a secure and limited way for partners to evaluate potential participants while maintaining controlled access.Visibility by logged in employers
All employers with Riipen accounts can view learners in your experience. This setting increases visibility and networking opportunities while still restricting access to Riipen users.
Visibility by non-users
All visitors, including those without Riipen accounts, can view the list of learners. This setting can help publicly showcase student engagement in your experience—for example, when sharing links or embedding the Experience talent pool widget on external sites.
Experience talent pool widget
Experience administrators can preview a list of learner members via an embeddable widget for external websites. This provides a shareable way to highlight learner participation and showcase engagement in the experience. The widget displays learners in a horizontal card format, making it visually appealing and easy to browse.

Best practices
Communicate with learners. Let students know when and how their information will be visible to employers.
Use the public view carefully. Only use the “non-user” visibility option if the goal is to publicly showcase engagement or share the experience externally.
FAQs
What happens if I change visibility settings later?
Any changes you make will take effect immediately. If you reduce visibility (for example, from “logged in employers” to “matched employers”), access will be restricted right away.
Can learners control their own visibility?
Learners can control whether non-users can view their profile in their User Settings > Privacy Settings. For example, choosing the option "Hidden. Users can see my profile but it is hidden from non-users and search engines" will keep their profile private from non-users, even if the experience settings allow it.
