By utilizing the work log, learners can log the time spent on tasks for your project. This enables you to monitor the tasks learners have been working on and the number of hours completed throughout the duration of the project.
Main benefits of using a work log to track tasks:
Acts as a time management tool, helping learners organize their time spent on tasks.
Provides transparency into the tasks being worked on, allowing you to see progress in real-time.
For paid hourly projects, work log entries are the primary method to indicate hours worked on the project for which invoices are based.
General
Digest
When you have a project for which work logs are being used, you will receive by default a weekly digest of all work log entries created by the learner.
You can edit this digest's configuration in your notification settings if you want to change its frequency.
Invoices
This section is for paid hourly projects only.
If your project is paid hourly, the learner's work logs will be used to generate invoices as they reach the experience's invoice interval. For example, if the experience is configured to have 10 hour intervals, every 10 hours of work logged will cause an invoice to be generated, with any additional hours being carried forward to the next invoice, up to the maximum number of hours allowed for the project.
Because work logs form the basis for how and why learners will be paid, it is important to:
Always review work logs as they are entered from the learner
Always communicate with your learners regarding work performed and ask any questions you have.
Once a work log entry has become a part of an invoice, it can no longer be edited or deleted by the learner.
