As part of the funding agreement with Ontario's Ministry of Colleges and Universities, individuals participating in the Advance Ontario program must meet specific eligibility criteria. As part of upholding our commitment to dispersing stipends that meet eligibility criteria, Students and Employers are required to verify their identity before engaging in projects.
Identify Verification for Students
Once you have been invited into the Riipen platform, as part of the sign up process you will be redirected to our 3rd party Identification provider, Persona, to complete a 5 step identity and enrolment verification.
To complete these steps you will be required to:
Verify your identity with a selfie and a government issued ID
Verify your post-secondary enrolment status with a Proof of Enrolment letter from your post-secondary institution
Verify your SIN
We recommend that you have these items available to you at sign up so that you can enter the program as smoothly as possible.
Identity Verification for Companies and Employers
Before you can match with a student in the Advance Ontario program you will be required to verify your business entity and individual identity.
As part of the sign up process you will be directed to our 3rd party Identification provider, Persona to complete a 5 step identity and verification process.
To complete these steps you will be required to:
Verify your Canadian Business registration including BN number
Verify the registered address of your business
Complete a personal identification process with a selfie and government issued ID

Third party provider
