Updated over a week ago

All employers of the TalentED YYC program must read and abide by Riipen’s Terms and Conditions listed below. Employers must agree to these conditions in order to join the Mount Royal University - ENTR 4433 Business Plan Development (September 2024) experience on the Riipen platform.

Employer/Company Requirements

Eligibility

  • I attest that I am located in Alberta, Canada.

  • I attest that I am a registered business in Canada with a valid business number.

Project Requirements

  • I understand that I must provide adequate information about my business to the best of my ability, limiting changes once students are approved for the project.

  • I understand that I must be available for a discussion with the TalentED YYC program team to initiate the relationship and confirm that the business is an appropriate fit for the program.

  • I understand that the deliverables for this program include only:

  • A 10-15 page business plan with the following outline:

    1. Executive Summary (max 250 words)

    2. Company Description

    3. Industry, Target Customer, and Competitive Analysis

    4. Product/Service Plan

    5. Marketing Plan

    6. Operation and Development Plan

    7. Management Team

    8. Critical Risk

    9. Offering

    10. Exit Strategy

    11. Financial Plan

  • I understand that students work as consultants; the more time that I dedicate to them, the better information the students have to produce their final paper. Students need to collect information to produce a comprehensive business plan.

  • I understand that the project timelines must align with the TalentED YYC program schedule:

  • Teams will begin the application process in early September, 2024.

  • I must select only one team and accept their application by September 20, 2024, at 12:00 PM MDT.

  • I will work with and mentor the selected team, meeting at least once per week, in person when possible.

  • Teams cannot be invited directly by the employer.

  • I understand that as the employer, I must make a good-faith effort to ensure that the project allows each of the 3-5 students 50 hours of experience.

  • I understand that I must provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to the students who are working on my project(s). I must be responsive to any questions, and check in on progress to help ensure a good result.

  • Upon completion of the project, I will confirm with the TalentED YYC program team that each student has completed the business plan, by providing comprehensive feedback on the platform.
