Employer/Company Requirements:

Eligibility

  • I attest that I am either a not-for-profit employer, public sector employer (post-secondary institution), or private sector employer.

  • I attest that I am located in Canada.

  • I attest that I am a registered Canadian business with a valid CRA business number.

  • I attest that I am not a member of the House of Commons or the Senate, an organization that engages in partisan political activities, and/or federal, provincial, territorial and municipal government.

  • I understand and attest that neither the company nor I can charge participants any form of payment to participate in the project and cannot directly profit from participant participation.

  • I understand that as an employer, neither the company nor I are entitled to claim any payment from participants or to receive any monies paid to the participant in the form of a stipend.

  • I acknowledge that any information collected through this process, when provided to the Government of Canada, is administered in accordance with the Privacy Act (R. S.C., 1985, c. P-21) and the Department of Employment and Social Development Canada Act (S.C. 2005, c. 34) and that they have a right under the Access to Information Act (R.S.C., 1985, c. A-1) to obtain access to that information from Canada.

Project Requirements

  • I understand that I must define the project scope up front to the best of my abilities, limiting scope changes once participants are approved for the project.

  • I understand that I must be available for a discussion with the Achēv team to initiate the relationship and confirm that the project scope is an appropriate fit for the internship.

  • I understand that I must review participant applications and accept or decline applications within 5 business days, offering feedback that can be utilized by the participants to strengthen their resumes.

  • I understand that the participant(s) must be confirmed and added to the project before the start date. Projects completed/tracked off platform will not qualify for the stipend.

  • I understand that the project timelines must be accurate before the project start date. If the project end date must change, the participant must notify the Achēv team a minimum of 5 business days prior to the end date currently recorded in the platform.

  • Upon completion of the project, I will confirm with the Achēv team that the participant has completed 450 hours of work within 12 weeks, by providing comprehensive feedback on the platform.

  • I understand that I must provide a project that requires no more than 450 hours of work per participating participant. If more than 450 hours of work is required, the participant will not be able to complete the project under this program.

  • I understand that as the employer, I must make a good faith effort to ensure that the number of participants accepted per project still allows each participant 450 hours of experience.

  • I understand that I must complete the Achēv program exit survey and approve project deliverables submitted by participant(s) at the conclusion of the project. I acknowledge that participation in this program requires a commitment to completing this survey and failure to do so may result in my inability to post new projects.

  • I understand that I must provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to the participant(s) that are working on my project. I must be responsive to any questions, and check in on progress to help ensure a good result.

  • I understand that I must acknowledge that the stipend can only be granted to eligible participants, and that all participants must come through the Riipen platform under the Achēv program page, and cannot be invited directly by the employer.

  • Participants engaged in Achēv projects are considered workers of Riipen Networks Inc. and as such Riipen meets all Work Safe requirements legislated by their respective province/territory.

  • I acknowledge I must provide learners with all relevant information concerning health and safety standards and regulations with regards to their work environment to include any and all required safety equipment to complete their work. This must be completed within the first week of the project.
