Your guide to starting and completing a project

Updated over a week ago

This help article assumes you have accepted your invitation to your University's experience or have already joined it. Once you’ve joined an experience, follow the steps below to start and complete your employer project.

1. Once in your University's portal, you will be able to view the details of your team’s project. First, you need to formally agree to the Student Terms & Conditions. Digitally sign the program T&Cs and you will then be prompted to accept your invitation to join your team.

2. By clicking on your initials avatar in the top right corner, you can edit your profile. Add your pronouns (optional), location, and choose up to 5 categories that interest you (ex: Financial Technology, Product Management, Administration, etc.) You can further personalize your profile by including a photo, your bio, and uploading your resume. This will be shared with employers when you are working on their project.

3. Once your profile is set up, select “My projects” from the left navigation, and click on your team.

6. You're now all set to begin your project! If there's a pre-survey, be sure to complete it as your first step. Then, click "Start Project" and send a welcome message to your employer, introducing yourself and highlighting your skills.

7. After starting the project, you can chat with the employer to schedule your kick-off meeting or to get a better understanding of the project's deliverables.

8. In the "Upcoming Tasks" section, you can create personal milestones to help you stay on track. You may also see check-ins or milestones set by your educator, along with the final submission deadline. Additionally, you'll receive a prompt to provide feedback to the employer and complete a survey.

Note: Survey completion is required for completing your project!

9. Once you have completed all of the milestones, tasks, surveys, and your final submission, you will unlock access to a certificate of completion.

The certificate includes the project and company details along with the skills you displayed while completing the project. This certificate can be used to showcase the work you have completed on your various online portfolios such as LinkedIn or a personal portfolio.

10. When the project and surveys are completed, you will also have the opportunity to receive direct feedback and an endorsement from your employer, which you can share with your networks to support your future career path.
