Riipen FuturePath Code of Conduct

To ensure a meaningful, professional, and respectful experience for all participants,

Updated over 2 weeks ago

We expect FuturePath students to uphold the following behaviours throughout the program.

The “Riipen Ready” Standard

Riipen project experiences are built around five traits that employers value most: Communication, Critical Thinking, Professionalism, Creativity, and Employability.

These traits represent the mindset and habits needed to succeed in real-world work environments. The expectations outlined below are designed to bring these traits to life in your project work. When you act “Riipen Ready,” you build trust, earn strong reviews, and open doors to future opportunities, including referrals, repeat projects, or full-time roles.

Communication

  • Be respectful: Use clear, professional, and courteous language in all written and verbal communication. Avoid vague, overly casual, or one-word responses.

  • Be responsive: Reply to employer messages promptly, ideally within the same business day, or by the next morning if received after hours.

Accountability & Initiative

  • Take ownership: Follow through on your commitments, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work.

  • Stay on track: Regularly update your work logs or project status as required by the program or employer.

Respect for Others

  • Be courteous: Show empathy, openness to feedback, and professionalism in all interactions.

  • Value diversity: Respect different perspectives and maintain appropriate boundaries at all times.

Integrity & Ethics

  • Be honest: Represent your work and contributions truthfully. Plagiarism, misrepresentation, or passing off others' work, including AI-generated content, as your own will not be tolerated.

  • Use AI responsibly: Ask your employer for permission before using AI tools like ChatGPT, and never share confidential or identifying company information with any AI platform.

Program Engagement

  • Stay engaged: Remain active, responsive, and committed throughout the project. Ask for help or clarification instead of guessing, avoiding, or going silent.

  • Communicate challenges: Let your employer or program staff know early if something may impact your participation.

Why This Matters

Riipen project experiences are built on mutual respect.

As a student, you are stepping into real-world projects where your contributions will directly impact a business, often a small or growing company where your work truly matters. These employers trust you to bring professionalism, initiative, and care to everything you do.

In return, you deserve to be treated with the same level of respect. If something in your project feels uncomfortable, inappropriate, or out of line with the program’s values, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team at any time. We are here to help and support you, and you will not be penalized for speaking up.
