Employer participation agreement

I attest that I am either a not-for-profit organisation, public sector organisation (including post-secondary institutions), or private sector employer.

I attest that my organisation is a registered business or charity with a valid registration number.

I acknowledge that as a condition of this partnership, I must provide documented proof of being a registered business or organisation. This may include, but is not limited to, a Companies House registration, charity number, articles of association, or other relevant documentation issued by the appropriate authorities.

I understand and attest that neither the organisation nor I can charge participants any form of payment to participate in the project and shall not directly profit from their participation.

I understand that I must define the project scope up-front to the best of my ability, limiting changes once students are approved for the project.

I understand that all program materials and activities will be age-appropriate, inclusive, and aligned with UCA's learning objectives and student needs.

I understand and will follow guidelines regarding student data privacy and media use, and will not collect, store, or share any student information or images without prior written consent.

I understand that the project timelines must align with the UCA student project program schedule. If the project end date must change, the students must notify the UCA team at least five business days prior to the current end date recorded in the platform.

Employer projects must be completed within the timeframe specified for the program cohort. Student and employer exit surveys and employer feedback must also be submitted after project completion.

I understand I will be matched with a team of UCA students to work on my project. All participants must come through the Riipen platform under the UCA student project program. Students cannot be invited directly by the employer.

I understand that I must provide a project that requires no more than 40 hours of work per student. If more than the stated number of hours of work is required, the students will not be able to complete the project under this program.

I understand that as the employer, I must make a good faith effort to ensure that the project allows each student sufficient opportunity to meet their learning objectives.

I understand that I must provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to the students who are working on my project(s), be responsive to their questions, and check in on progress to help ensure a good result.

Upon completion of the project, I will confirm that each student has completed their expected hours of work by providing comprehensive feedback on the platform, and reviewing their final deliverables.

I acknowledge that participation in this program requires a commitment to completing feedback surveys, and failure to do so may result in my inability to post new projects.

I must conduct myself with respect and professionalism toward others at all times while using this service. This includes refraining from harassment, discrimination, hate speech, threats, or any form of abusive behaviour that would be considered hateful, religiously, racially, or ethnically offensive, or that is otherwise inappropriate or disrespectful at Riipen’s discretion.

Violation of the above conduct may result in immediate removal, suspension, or termination of my service without prior notice.

The UCA student project program team reserves the right to determine, at their discretion, what constitutes a violation of respectful behaviour in line with Riipen’s Acceptable Use Policy.

Any decision made by Riipen regarding the termination of my participation due to a violation of this agreement is final and binding.

I am solely responsible for my actions and behaviours while using this service, and I understand that I must adhere to this agreement to continue using the service.
