Employer participation agreement

I attest that I am either a not-for-profit employer, public sector employer (post-secondary institution), or private sector employer.

I attest that I am located in the United States.

I attest that I am a registered business in the United States with a valid Employer Identification Number (EIN).

I acknowledge that as a condition of this partnership, I must provide documented proof of being a registered business entity in the United States. This may include, but is not limited to, a valid Employer Identification Number (EIN), articles of incorporation, business license, or any other relevant documentation issued by the appropriate authorities.

I attest that I am not an elected official or an organization that engages in partisan political activities, and/or federal, state, and municipal government.

I understand and attest that neither the company nor I can charge participants any form of payment to participate in the project and shall not directly profit from their participation.

I understand that as an employer, neither the company nor I am entitled to claim any payment from participants or to receive any monies paid to the participant in the form of a stipend.

I understand that I must define the project scope up front to the best of my ability, limiting changes once learners are approved for the project.

I understand that I must be available for a discussion with the PACE SkillRISE program team to initiate the relationship and confirm that the project scope is an appropriate fit for the placement.

I understand that the project timelines must align with the PACE SkillRISE program’s schedule. If the project end date must change, participants must notify the PACE SkillRISE team a minimum of 5 business days prior to the currently recorded end date.

I understand that employer projects must be completed within 4 weeks for 20 hour projects, and 8 weeks for 40 hour projects, beginning on or after the official program start date. Participant and employer feedback must be submitted within 2 weeks of project completion.

I understand I will be matched with a team of 5 PACE SkillRISE participants to work on my project.

I understand that the project must require no more than the outlined 20 or 40 hours of work per learner over the course of the 4-8 week timeline.

I understand that as the employer, I must make a good-faith effort to ensure that the project allows each of the 5 learners up to the required 20 or 40 hours of meaningful experience.

I understand that I must provide ongoing mentorship and guidance to the participants who are working on my project(s). I must be responsive to any questions, and check in on progress to help ensure a good result.

I understand that learners must receive at least 5 hours of mentorship throughout the project.

Upon completion of the project, I will confirm with the PACE SkillRISE team that each learner has completed their work by providing comprehensive feedback on the platform.

I understand that I must complete the program’s exit survey and approve project deliverables submitted by the learners at the conclusion of the project.

I acknowledge that participation in this program requires a commitment to completing this survey, and failure to do so may result in my inability to post new projects.

I understand that participants in the PACE SkillRISE Program are engaged via Riipen Networks Inc., and that Riipen meets all Occupational and Health Standard requirements legislated by federal and state governments.

I acknowledge that I must provide learners with all relevant information concerning safe digital work practices, and that I will maintain a virtual space that is respectful and inclusive.

The PACE SkillRISE program is offered by Riipen in partnership with UC Merced. I understand that as part of the initiative, PACE SkillRISE may reach out to follow up about the experience and share future opportunities. I agree to engage in periodic follow-up conversations.

I understand and agree that:

I must conduct myself with respect and professionalism toward others at all times while using this service. This includes refraining from harassment, discrimination, hate speech, threats, or any form of abusive behaviour that would be considered hateful; religiously, racially; or ethnically offensive, or that is otherwise inappropriate or disrespectful at Riipen’s discretion.

Violation of the above conduct may result in immediate removal, suspension, or termination of my service without prior notice.

The PACE SkillRISE team reserves the right to determine, at their discretion, what constitutes a violation of respectful behaviour in line with Riipen’s Acceptable Use Policy.

Any decision made by PACE SkillRISE team regarding the termination of my participation due to a violation of this agreement is final and binding.

I am solely responsible for my actions and behaviours while using this service, and I understand that I must adhere to this agreement to continue using the service.
