Experiences can customize the content of notifications which are sent to its various stakeholders at different parts of their journey inside the experience. This can be helpful when needing to provide experience specific details, instructions, or just general context at the time of the notification.

Portal Branding
All notifications sent from your experience will automatically have your portal's customization applied to it, including:
Logo
Custom vocabularies
Color palette
This will occur regardless of if you customize the content of the notifications themselves. This is to ensure your users always see your portal's branding and understand that they are working inside of your portal.
Variables
Each custom notification will have a set of variables available to be used inside of the customized content. This can be used for dynamically inserting user names, dates, or creating dynamic links. For a full description of this functionality, check our our variables documentation.
Portal defaults
Portals have the ability to set portal wide customization notifications which are then applied to each experience automatically inside the portal. This is great for maintaining consistency across the portal for different notifications which are tied to events inside of individual experiences. However, you are still free to override these defaults as needed and provide custom notifications on a per experience basis.

All custom notifications have the ability to be previewed so you can see what your users will see when they receive the notification.
How to
Customize a notification
To customize a notification for an experience:
Navigate to your experience
Click on the "Settings" tab on the experience page
Click on the "Notifications" tab in the "Advanced" group
Customize the content of the notification and then click "Submit" to save it.
Each available notification is separated into its respective group in the experience settings, so be sure to check out each group to customize any of the available notifications.
Preview a notification
To preview a customized notification for an experience:
Navigate to your experience
Click on the "Settings" tab on the experience page
Click on the "Notifications" tab in the "Advanced" group
Find the notification you wish to preview and click the eye icon on the top right of the content editor.
