Connecting your Riipen experience with Canvas via LTI enables learners to easily navigate from a Canvas course assignment item to an associated Riipen experience.

How to
Enable the Canvas LTI integration
The following steps need to be completed inside of Canvas and only need to be completed once.
Sign into Canvas as a Teacher or Administrator
Go to your course page
In your Course Navigation menu, click "Settings", then "View App Configurations"
Click the "+App" button
Fill out the fields below, then click "Submit"
Configuration Type | "Manual Entry" |
Name | Riipen Integration |
Consumer Key | Get one of your portal's keys "public token" in the settings -> keys tab of your portal in Riipen. Create a key if one does not exist. |
Shared Secret | Get one of your portal's keys "secret token" in the settings -> keys tab of your portal in Riipen. Create a key if one does not exist. |
Launch URL | https://{subdomain}.riipen.com |
Domain | {subdomain}.riipen.com |
Privacy | E-mail Only |
The new Riipen app will now appear in the Apps tab.
Connect a Canvas course assignment to a Riipen experience
The following steps need to be completed inside of Canvas.
Open your course
Add a new assignment with the "+Assignment" button
Enter a name for your assignment (e.g. Riipen Project)
In the submission type drop-down menu, select "External Tool"
In the "Enter or find an External URL input", enter "https://{subdomain}.riipen.com/lti/experiences/[experience_id]"
Important: Select "Load this tool in a new tab"
Fill out any other assignment-related fields for your course, then click "Save & Publish"
