You must be invited into the Breaking Barriers program to apply to projects. If you haven't already, visit the student landing page and complete the application form. Only those invited to the program can apply to projects.
Students may have up to four active applications at a time but are limited to completing only one project. The first employer to accept your application will determine the project you’ll work on. If an employer declines your application, you may now apply to a new one.
Make sure to apply only to projects you are genuinely interested in and confident you can complete - once an employer accepts your application, you cannot switch.
Steps to apply:
1. Log in to your Riipen account.
2. Once logged in, click on “My Dashboard” from the navigation menu to access your personalized workspace.
3. Under the “My Experiences” section, find and click on the Breaking Barriers experience you are participating in.
4. Once you're on your experience page, scroll down to view the list of available projects.
Tip: Bookmark this page so it’s easy to return to later!
5. Before you apply:
Read the project scope, deliverables, and requirements.
Make sure the project aligns with your interests, skills, and availability.
6. Found a project you’re excited about? Click the “Apply” button located in the top right corner of the project page.

Enter a team name.
We recommend using your real name.
Projects are completed individually - you cannot invite others to your team.
Availability:
The project dates are pre-set and non-negotiable.
Be sure you can commit to the entire duration of the project before applying.
8. Complete Screening Questions.
Answer any screening questions. Then, introduce yourself to the employer by highlighting:
