Getting started on your Project

  • Accept your invitation to join your Team in your cohort

This email will come from team@riipen.com on the day that students are assigned to teams.)

  • Complete the EduNova Career Connect and Riipen pre-survey

This can be found on the Team page under ‘Upcoming Tasks’

  • Press ‘Start’ on the Project

  • Schedule your kick-off meeting:

Connect with the Employer before beginning any work on the Project. This gives you the chance to align on the tasks to be done, as well as due dates.

  • Use Riipen’s platform messaging to communicate:

This keeps everything documented and accessible.

  • Clarify expectations:

Review project tasks with the Employer, a check-in process that you will follow for the timeline of the project, and deadlines for tasks.

  • Gain access to any software needed for your project:

Coordinate with the Employer for necessary login credentials that you will need for the success of your project.

  • Know your project scope
    Projects are 30 hours, and you’ll have 2-4 weeks or less to complete your project. Aim to complete the work over time, not all at once, or close to the end of the Project deadline.

During your project

  • Use personal Milestones to keep yourself on track:

Set a Milestone for task deadlines. You can create personal milestones under ‘Upcoming Tasks’.

  • Document your completed tasks:

Ask for Employer feedback early and often! Checking in throughout the project is important to ensuring that you are on the right track with your employer

  • Check in with the Employer regularly:

We recommend that you keep all communication on-platform where possible, for visibility!

  • Ask questions:

Don’t wait! If you're stuck, clarify early to stay on track.

  • Respond to Employer communication within 24 hours (on workdays!)

  • Loop in Riipen support if issues arise:

Let us know if you aren’t hearing back from the Employer or if there is a concern that you would like to share. You can do so using the avocado on the bottom right corner of the Riipen platform.

End of project

  • Finalize and submit your deliverables and reflection

On the Team page under ‘Upcoming Tasks’, submit your final deliverables.This will complete the Project and allow the employer to review and provide feedback.

  • Complete the EduNova Career Connect and Riipen post-experience survey

This can be found on the team page under ‘Upcoming Tasks’

  • Provide feedback to the Employer

This can be found on the team page under ‘Upcoming Tasks.’ Employers will also provide you with feedback that you can share directly on your LinkedIn profile.

  • Update your resume and LinkedIn

Use the achievement badge and certificate that you receive at the end of the cohort to showcase your Riipen project experience!
