Eligibility & Indication of Interest Process

This section helps you understand whether you meet the requirements to participate in FuturePath and clarifies the difference between simply expressing interest and formally entering the application process.

How do I apply to FuturePath?

The application process consists of four steps:

  • Step 1: Complete Eligibility Form

  • Step 2: If Eligible, Program Submit Application

  • Step 3: If Application Accepted, you will be invited to onboard

  • Step 4: If Onboarding is successful, you will be invited to the cohort.

I submitted an indication of interest. Does that mean I applied?

No. An indication of interest simply lets us know you would like to be notified about future FuturePath cohorts. When applications reopen, eligible students will be invited to apply.

What is the Eligibility Form?

The Eligibility Form is the first step in the application process. It helps determine whether you meet the program requirements.

Only students who meet the eligibility criteria will be invited to submit a program application when applications open.

How do I know if I am eligible for the FuturePath program?

Only eligible students are provided access to the application form.

How will I know when applications are open?

Eligible students who have completed the Eligibility Form will receive an email invitation when applications open for an upcoming cohort.

You can also check the FuturePath Cohort Breakdown page for upcoming application dates and deadlines.

When do applications close?

Application deadlines vary by cohort, but closing dates will be communicated via email.

Be sure to submit your application before the deadline communicated via email

When will I hear back about my application?

After submitting your application, you will receive a confirmation email outlining when you can expect your application to be reviewed and when decisions will be communicated.

Please monitor both your inbox and spam/junk folders for updates from the FuturePath team.

Onboarding & Verification Process

The goal of this section is to ensure you know what is needed to be successful onboarded to the program.

What happens if my application is accepted?

If your application is accepted, you will be invited to complete the MANDATORY ONBOARDING PROCESS.

All onboarding requirements must be completed by the deadline provided in your acceptance email.

Students who do not complete onboarding by the deadline will not be invited to participate in the cohort.

What is the onboarding process?

The goal of onboarding is to help you:

  • Understand how FuturePath works.

  • Be guided through all required steps and actions.

  • Complete everything needed before being invited to the platform.

Onboarding consists:

  • Step 1: Submit Proof of ID & Proof of Enrollment Verification

  • Step 2: Complete the Onboarding Course & Readiness Check

Do I need to complete the entire onboarding course?

Yes.

The onboarding course must be completed at 100% before the onboarding deadline. If completed below 100% you will not be invited to the cohort.

What is the verification process?

Verification is a two-step process used to confirm your identity, enrollment status, and funding eligibility.

You will be required to complete:

  • Proof of Identity Verification

  • Proof of Enrolment Verification

Review this help article thoroughly for more information on acceptable documents required to complete both verification steps.

BOTH verification requirements must be completed by the stated deadline.

Do I need to create an account to start the verification process?

  • Yes, If you do NOT have a Riipen account:

    • You must create one before starting verification.

    • Please sign up as a Student/Learner and use the same name and email address you used in your application. This is required to match your records.

    • Direct link to sign-up page: https://futurepath.riipen.com/login

  • No, If you already have a Riipen account:

    • Log in and proceed directly to verification using the same email associated with your account.

What if I have multiple Riipen accounts?

Your verification may be delayed if you have multiple Riipen accounts, as Riipen policy only allows one account per user.

How do I know I have successfully verified?

  • Both verification sections must show a status of “Completed.”

  • View this screenshot example to see what a completed 2-step verification screen looks like

  • If either section shows “Pending” or “In Review,” you are not yet verified and will not be invited or granted access to the portal.

What if my verification is pending or in review?

  • Please allow some time for processing and check again later, as results are updated routinely.

  • If there is still no update after 8+ hours or EOD, reach out to us at futurepath@riipen.com.

What if my verification fails?

  • Common issues include:

    • Enrollment documents do not show current enrollment

    • Documents are missing the institution name

    • ID photos are unclear or unsupported

  • You may resubmit as many times as needed using different accepted documents.

  • Review this help article thoroughly for more information on acceptable documents required to complete both verification steps.

  • Many students are approved on a second attempt.

Do I need to complete verification again if I participated in a previous cohort?

  • Yes. Verification is required for every FuturePath cohort, even if you have completed onboarding before.

Can I use a different email address for onboarding or verification?

  • No. You must use the same email address associated with your Riipen account for all FuturePath activities.

What if I already completed the onboarding course ?

  • If you’ve already completed the onboarding course, you will still need to redo it for the current cohort. Click "Replay Course"

  • This includes completing both Proof of ID and Proof of Enrollment verification again. The updated verification link is embedded within the onboarding course, so please follow the course steps and complete that section in full.

  • Email us at futurepath@riipen.com to inform us of your prior completion of the onboarding course.

What if I am experiencing onboarding issues during onboarding or verification?

  • Please review the onboarding resources and troubleshooting guides first, as most common issues can be resolved using the provided instructions.

  • If you need assistance, contact the FuturePath team as early as possible.

  • Students who reach out early in the process have the best chance of receiving support before deadlines.

  • Due to high application volumes near onboarding deadlines, we may not be able to respond to requests submitted within 48 hours of the deadline.

What happens if I do not complete onboarding or verification by the deadline?

Students who do not complete both onboarding and verification by the deadline will not be invited into the cohort.

Unfortunately, extensions cannot be guaranteed.

I was removed from the cohort but I completed all onboarding steps before the deadline

Email us at futurepath@riipen.com with timestamped proof of completion before the deadline.

Platform Access

The goal of this section is to ensure you understand the final conditions required to access the FuturePath platform and what must be completed before you are officially invited into your cohort.

I completed onboarding. Why can’t I access the platform yet?

Completing onboarding does not automatically provide platform access. Invitations are sent after eligibility reviews are completed, all students status will be communicated via email.

When will I get access to the FuturePath platform?

You will receive platform access only after:

  • You are Eligible

  • Your application has been accepted.

  • Your onboarding course has been completed at 100%.

  • Your Proof of enrollment and Proof of Identification are both marked as completed.

  • All onboarding requirements have been completed by the deadline.

What happens if my platform invitation expires?

If your invitation expires it won’t be resent.
