Canvas experience integration

How to enable the Canvas integration for your experience

Riipen's integration with Canvas allows educators to sync data between their individual Canvas courses and their Riipen experiences.

Pre-requisites

Your portal must have the Canvas portal integration configured. Please see our Canvas portal integration documentation for details.

Enabling the Canvas integration

The following steps can be completed by administrator of a portal.

  1. Navigate to your experience you wish to integrate

  2. Click the "Settings" tab

  3. Select the "Integrations" tab

  4. Select the "Canvas" option under the data source section.

  5. If you haven't already done so, connect your Riipen and Canvas accounts by clicking the "Connect with Canvas" button. You will then be directed to the Canvas login page.

    1. Login to your Zoom account.

    2. Follow the prompts to authorize the integration.

  6. Configure your Canvas integration by entering in your Canvas course ID you would like to integrate with.

  7. Save your integration configuration.

How to use the integration

Import students - you can start a import by clicking the 'Import Students' button on the integration page which will import all students enrolled in your Canvas course as learners in your Riipen experience. This will show up as a import on your experience which you can see the results of by navigating to the 'Imports' tab of your experience's settings page.

Removing the Canvas integration

  1. Navigate to your experience you wish to integrate

  2. Click the "Settings" tab

  3. Select the "Integrations" tab.

  4. Select the "Canvas" option under the data source section.

  5. Click on the "Delete" button to remove the integration.
