Managing Achievements
Updated over a week ago

Achievements offer you a way to reward learners, employers and even educators with rewards for completing specific activities. These rewards come in the form of a digital badge on their profile, but can also be integrated with external systems such a badging, micro-credentialing, or any other type of awards based platform.

  • Issue badges and micro-credentials to learners for completing projects

  • Track completion rates of achievements

  • Full brand achievements for your institution

  • Integrate with external systems easily

General

Scopes

Achievements can be created at the portal level or the experience level.

  • Portal scope - Achievements created in the portal will be applied to all activity across the portal. For example, if you create an achievement which is awarded to learners who complete a project, then no matter what experience the learner is apart of, they will be awarded the achievement upon completing a project.

  • Experience scope - Achievements created in a specific experience will be applied only to all activity within that experience.

Riipen achievements

By default, Riipen provides its own set of achievements available to any user. These will be available to all users within your portal along side any achievements you also create.

Branding

All achievements have a name, description, and badge associated with them. This is where you are able to insert any sort of branding or explanation you would like to be displayed publicly along side the achievement.

For the badge, you will be able to upload your own custom image giving you full control over the appearance, or you can use the badge builder to quickly build a custom badge using present icons and colors.

Criteria

When defining your achievement, you will be able to pick from a wide range of criteria you want users to meet in order to be awarded the achievements.

The basic criteria you can select are as follows:

  • User type - The user type who are eligible to earn the achievement

  • Activity - The type of activity for which the achievement is awarded

Activities are dependent on the user type selected:
