Best practices for managing projects in your experience

Updated over a week ago

Once learners begin projects in your experience, under your guidance, they will not only need to complete the needed tasks, but they will also need to manage the projects along the way.

Outside of your academic goals and learning outcomes, here are the best ways you can properly manage projects and provide guidance to your learners.

Best practices

Ensure projects start correctly

Once learners as assigned to a project and have made first contact with the employer, check in with both the learners and the employer to ensure everything went smoothly. The kickoff call they have with each other is usually a very strong indicator of future project success so it is vital to fix any issues that may have arisen as early as possible.

To further ensure success, you may choose to actually sit in on the kickoff call and provide guidance as needed.

Regular check-ins

Once projects are off and running, make sure you have regular check-ins or status updated from both your learners and the employers to see what progress is being made, answer any questions they may have, or unblock anything for either party.

These check-ins may come in the form of meetings, messages, or even check-in style surveys configured on your experience.

Be responsive & take action

Both learners and employers may look to you to solve some problems such as communication issues, helping clarify timelines, or other general expectation questions. Make sure you are responsive to their queries and take an appropriate actions needed as this can often be critical to the further success of any one project.
