Review and resolve issues flagged by learners and employers

Updated today

This new feature will be released in late October 2024.

This feature introduces a structured system for efficiently reporting and resolving issues that arise in matched projects. Learners and employers may face challenges such as unmet expectations, poor communication, or inappropriate content. This flagging system provides a formal, trackable way to handle these concerns.

Key Benefits

  • Get alerted about potentially off-track projects before it's too late

  • Track and document concerns for accountability and transparency

  • Improve overall project outcomes with timely intervention and support

General

Flagging

Employers and learners can manually flag issues related to their teams and projects. To flag an issue, employers or learners can navigate to the team's page, where they will see a 'Flag' icon. Once clicked, they will have the option to provide the following details to the experience administrators:

  • Issue type (e.g., Communication, Unmet expectations, Inappropriate behaviour, Other)

  • Specific members involved

  • A detailed explanation of the issue

  • Supporting documents to clarify the issue

Reviewing flags

Experience administrators are notified when a flag is raised, prompting them to review the issue. They will be provided the following key details to assist in resolving the issue:

  • Creation Date: The date the flag was raised

  • Flagged User(s): Names and profile links of the individuals involved

  • Flag Type: The reason for the flag (e.g., communication issues, unmet expectations)

  • Description: A detailed explanation from the reporter

  • Attachments: Any supporting files provided

  • Reporter: The profile link of the user who submitted the flag

  • Team Link: Direct access to the relevant team's page

How to

Review a flagged issue

To review a flagged issue as an educator, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the 'Review issue' button in the notification or email you receive regarding the flagged issue.

  2. Review the details of the issue, including the description, flagged users, and any attachments provided.

  3. Reach out to the learners or employers involved to address the issue directly.

Close a flagged issue

To close a flagged issue as an educator, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the 'Review issue' button in the notification or email you receive regarding the flagged issue.

  2. Click the 'Close' button in the top right corner.

  3. Before closing the flag, add notes detailing any actions taken. These notes will be shared with the person who reported the flag.

  4. The reporter will receive a notification and an email informing them that the flag has been resolved.

Best Practices

  • Be prompt: Respond to flagged issues promptly to minimize disruptions and keep projects on track. Timely intervention allows for adjustments or alternative arrangements to be made as needed.

  • Provide clear communication: When addressing the flagged issue, offer clear, constructive feedback to all involved parties. Ensure that everyone understands the nature of the issue and the actions being taken to resolve it.

  • Analyze for trends: Regularly review flagged issues to identify patterns or recurring problems. Proactively addressing these trends can help uncover underlying issues and improve the overall project experience for all users.
