Set up and manage your payment account for learners

Create or update your payment account and resolve banking or identify verification issues.

When completing certain projects, you may be eligible to receive payments for your work. Aside from feedback, getting your skills verified, and having additional work based experiences to put on your resume / CV, payments are obviously the best way to be rewarded for your efforts.

Your payment account connects Riipen payments to your bank account. If your project includes payment, you must set up and enable your payment account to receive funds. This article explains how to create your account, update your details and resolve setup issues.

Troubleshooting

I cannot finish setting up my payment account

If you are having trouble setting up your payment account, try the following:

  • Ensure you selected the country where you are eligible to work and have a bank account. If you accidentally made the wrong choice, contact support as there is no way to undo this choice with Riipen support. Do not create a second account to circumvent this issue.

  • Ensure your personal identity information you are submitting matches your legal documents. If you submit mismatching information your payment account may be frozen.

  • Ensure your bank account information is current. Double and triple check all numbers submitted.

  • Ensure any tax information submitted is accurate and complete.

Why is my payment account information being rejected?

Riipen uses Stripe to securely process payments and manage your payment account details. If your banking or identity information is marked as incorrect, you should first double-check that all details entered are accurate and match your official documents. In some cases, payment issues must be resolved directly with Stripe.

You should contact Stripe if:

  • Your banking information is marked as incorrect, but you believe it is accurate

  • You are unable to complete identity verification or payout setup

  • You receive errors related to your Stripe payment account that persist after updating your information in Riipen
