Enable the D2L LTI Advantage integration

After Ripen has been installed by your administrator, educators can follow these steps to set up your D2L-linked Riipen experience.

  1. Ensure your experience within Riipen already exists

  2. In your D2L course, go to a content area

  3. Select "Existing Activities"

  4. Click "External Learning Tools"

  5. Select Riipen from the links provided

  6. Click the drop down arrow next to the Riipen link,

  7. Select "Edit properties in place"

  8. Check off the box next to "Open as an external resource"

  9. Launch Riipen

  10. You will be redirected to Riipen

  11. Find your experience you would like to link to your Canvas course to and click it

  12. Click the "Settings" tab

  13. Click the "Integrations" tab i n the "Advanced" tab group

  14. Click "LTI Advantage" in the "Learning Tool Interoperability (LTI)" group

  15. Click "Create link"

Create a graded deep link

Follow these steps to create graded deep links in your D2L course:

  1. Create your scored entity in Riipen first.

  2. In your D2L course, navigate to a Module

  3. Click "Existing Activities" > "Riipen Deep Link"

  4. A window will pop up that will allow you to select a Riipen item to link.

  5. Select an item.

  6. Ensure that "Import grading information to LMS" is enabled

  7. Click "Link to this assignment"

  8. Beside the assignment title, click "Edit Activity"

  9. Enable "Open as External Resource"

Create an ungraded deep link

If you'd like to create deep links to anywhere in your Riipen experience but do not want to have a grade associated with it in your D2L grade book, follow the same steps as created a graded deep link except in step 6 ensure "Import grading information to LMS" is disabled.
