On Riipen, users can sign up and log in with a single sign on (SSO) partner.

Google

To sign up with your Google account:

  1. Click "Login with Google" on the login or sign up page.

  2. A new window will pop up prompting you to select your Google account and give permission for Riipen to use this to authenticate you.

  3. Click "Authorize" in this window.

  4. You will be redirected back to Riipen and logged in.

Thereafter, you'll select "Log in with Google" on the login screen to sign in.

Google provides Riipen with:

  • Name

  • Email address

LinkedIn

To sign up with your LinkedIn account:

  1. Click "Login with LinkedIn" on the login or sign up page.

  2. A new window will pop up prompting you to select your LinkedIn account and give permission for Riipen to use this to authenticate you.

  3. Click "Authorize" in this window.

  4. You will be redirected back to Riipen and logged in.

Thereafter, you'll select "Log in with LinkedIn" on the login screen to sign in.

LinkedIn provides Riipen with:

  • Name

Learning management systems

If you first access Riipen via a link in your Learning Management System (LMS) (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L or Moodle) and are not prompted to create an account, your educator has enabled SSO for your experience. In this case, you can access Riipen through the LMS directly, but it doesn't appear as a single sign on partner on the login screen.

To login outside of this integration you will need to set a password.

Portal single sign on partner

Learners and educators who are signing up or logging in through a portal may see a custom SSO partner on the sign up and login screen. This is enabled by portal administrators, and will usually be the authentication system used by your institution.

Disabling single sign on integrations

If you have previously sign up with any single sign on option and wish to disable it (usually in favor of only using a password to login):

  1. Click on your user avatar in the top navigation bar and select "Settings"

  2. Click the "Integrations" tab in the "Advanced" group

  3. Select the integration from the list you wish to disable it

  4. Click the "Delete" button to disable the integration.
